I've spent 12 years at Infor Birst shaping how enterprise users make sense of their data. I was the sole designer on a ground-up mobile BI suite that shipped to customers including United Airlines, Disney, and Clarks, contributing to Birst's recognition as a Leader in the 2015 Forrester Wave for Cloud Business Intelligence Platforms and its #1 ranking in Dresner's Wisdom of Crowds Cloud BI Market Study for four consecutive years. I went on to co-design the replatform of our data integration system, which later became the architectural basis for Infor's own data connection flow. More recently, I helped drive GenAI integration across 10+ features of our flagship analytics platform and stepped into a Design Lead role, managing a direct report and contributing to the growth of the team.

Case Studies
Replatforming Birst's data integration from legacy Flash into a modern Connect, Prep, and Relate system, later adopted as the architectural basis for Infor's own data connection flow.
Role: Co-Lead Designer
A ground-up mobile BI product for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and Android tablets, bringing enterprise dashboards to the palm of your hand. Shipped to customers including United Airlines, Disney, Topgolf, and Clarks, and recognized by Forrester and Dresner as a category leader in mobile BI.
Role: Sole Designer
Designing GenAI features across Infor Birst's analytics platform during a company-wide AI integration push, including natural-language chart generation, AI-written descriptions, and a prompt-to-code feature for the platform's custom query language.
Role: Design Lead on specific features within a collaborative effort.
Designing a complete chart library for an enterprise BI platform, from the minimum data requirements of each chart type through the math of how charts render, configure, and degrade at scale.

A data-lineage visualization feature for Infor Birst's analytics platform, giving users a bird's-eye view of how columns, tables, sources, and reports connect, and what breaks when they change something.

My Work at Infor Birst
I joined Birst in 2014 as the sole designer hired to build its mobile BI suite from scratch, with ground-up design authority across four form factors. The product shipped features that Forrester named a Leader in the 2015 Cloud BI Wave and rolled out to global brands including United Airlines, Disney, and Clarks.
After Infor acquired Birst in 2017, I was promoted to Senior Product Designer and expanded my scope to design across the entire platform. Over the next eight years, I co-led Modeler, the replacement for Birst's legacy data integration system that later became the architectural basis for Infor's own data connection flow. I served as the platform's lead chart designer, building out nearly all of its current chart types and the underlying rendering formulas, and I drove accessibility compliance across a full platform redesign. The platform was recognized in Gartner's 2018 Critical Capabilities for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms, scoring in the top five across all five use cases evaluated.
In 2025 I stepped into a Design Lead role, where I managed a direct report, contributed to growing the team, and designed GenAI features across the platform during a company-wide AI integration push, including natural-language chart generation, AI-written descriptions, and a prompt-to-code feature for our custom query language.
